Getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame isn't a cake walk

Eva Longoria, Ryan Reynolds, Selena Quintanilla and Goldie Hahn will get stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017.
Ana Martinez, the producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, told CNN they received over 300 submissions this past year for new sidewalk stars.
"There are forms they have to fill out, a bio and a letter of consent from the celebrity that states they are in agreement of the nomination and will show up (to the ceremony) if selected."
So who decides who's star worthy? The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, made up of five members including talent manager, Irving Azoff and producer/director, Don Mischer, has final say.
"They look at how long the person has been in the business, awards, nominations and philanthropic work in their community, or around the world," Martinez said.
And the price of fame, it turns out, is $30,000.
The actual star, made of Terrazzo marble, costs $3,000, according to Martinez. The other costs go to breaking up the sidewalk, maintaining the Walk of Fame and producing the star ceremony.

"I've had wives, fans, studios, recording labels and industry people pay for the sponsorship," Martinez said.
So while having your name trampled over on a questionable corner in Hollywood may not seem like a tribute, it actually is.
